Father of CSS, Opera CTO HÃ¥kon Wium Lie, to urge Web progress at Web 2.0 Expo New York

Oslo, Norway – November 12, 2009

Opera Software will showcase its products and participate with some of the best minds in Web technology at the Web 2.0 Expo in New York City, November 16 through November 19, 2009. As silver sponsors, Opera will have a big presence at the show including the latest product demos of Opera’s desktop browser, along with Web server technology Opera Unite, as well as Opera Mini and Opera Mobile, at booth number 1227 (on November 18 and 19).

Opera CTO, HÃ¥kon Wium Lie, popularly known as the father of CSS, will speak on the Design and UX track at the show on the topic, “CSS3 for Working Web Designers” on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:10 am. Wium Lie, during his days at CERN (the birthplace of the Web) introduced the concept of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). At the show, Opera will host an Opera Unite application-development contest and will give away some fabulous prizes to developers of the best application including Nintendo Wii’s and DSi’s.
