Opera Software and OS/2 NetLabs to Deliver Opera Browser to OS/2

New ‘Opera/Netlabs’ initiative to provide streamlined OS/2 browser

Oslo, Norway and Biel, Switzerland – June 30, 1999

Opera Software and OS/2 Netlabs today announced their collaboration to bring the Opera Browser to the OS/2 platform. Producing the OS/2 port is a worldwide OS/2 Netlabs developer team. Called “Opera-OS/2” the initiative will streamline HTML viewing and provide a fast,small-footprint, flexible browser to the OS/2 community.

Opera-OS/2 will include technologies that will ensure efficient,high-quality representation of HTML documents and promises to simplifyHTML rendering with lighter tighter coding and the rich feature setprovided in Opera 3.60. Benefits to the OS/2 community include fasterWorld Wide Web browsing and HTML viewing with a stable, up-to-date,and feature rich environment.
