Cydoor Partners with Opera to Distribute Free Browser with Value-Added Content

Entering browser war as top competitor

New York, NY- Dec. 6, 2000

Cydoor Technologies, Inc. announced today its partnership with Opera Software to cooperatively release a free, full-featured version of the Opera browser. The Opera browser, significant for being one of the fastest, smallest browsers available, has integrated Cydoor’s content-serving technology, OnSoftware, in order to replace the trial-version with a complimentary one.

OnSoftware, Opera’s “free at last” solution, will deliver value-added content, such as news, services, e-commerce offers, advertisements and other content to the interface of the Opera browser. The Opera browser, in turn, will become a powerful marketing tool that connects users who opt to define their preferences, and advertisers that will send them ads geared to their interests. Those advertising on the Opera browser will reach millions of users, as well as have a crucial, ongoing connection with Opera users.

Opera chose Cydoor’s upgraded technology over its competitors for its user-friendly operability with advanced, stable, and privacy-safe features, and for its ability to help maintain the speed and size of the browser. Meir Zohar, CEO of Cydoor said, “Cydoor’s superior technology is now generating exposure and revenue for many top-tier software programs. Opera Software, with the help of Cydoor, is now able to offer their Windows Web browser for Windows for free, providing a real challenge to Microsoft and AOL/Netscape.”
