Opera revamps MyOpera community and enhances the Opera Composer

Oslo, Norway – Sept. 11, 2001

Opera Software today opened the revamped MyOpera community and released the second edition of their popular Opera Composer, inviting users to join an Opera community or create their own.

The Opera Composer lets users build their own community by inviting them to customize their own Web browser and distribute it to friends, family, customers or colleagues for free. In this new version, users can customize their own Web browser for the Linux platform as well as for Windows, and increases the number of language customizations for Windows to 15 by adding Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian Bokmal and New Norwegian, Portuguese-Brazilian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish in addition to English.

In the new MyOpera community users can communicate with each other, read the daily comic strip or participate in the daily poll, exchange skins and buttons to enhance their Web browsing experience.

“The Opera Composer and the new MyOpera site are examples of great ways to build or join a community online, and we hope that our many millions of users will choose to do both,” says CEO Jon S. von Tetzchner. “We will continually work to add extra services to the MyOpera community and extra platforms and languages to the Opera Composer.”

You can customize your Web browser on the Linux platform or in 15 different languages on the Windows platform at composer.opera.com.
