Oslo, Norway, and Boston, Massachusetts – October 21, 2008

Over the next two days, Opera Software will reveal the latest Web technologies available to service new mobile-industry business models at Yankee Group’s Mobile Internet World conference held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. The conference is organized to showcase the mobile Internet technologies and business trends that are paving the way to the future by the innovative pioneers of today. Opera CEO, Jon von Tetzchner, will speak during a featured session scheduled on October 22nd, at 2:30 p.m. on the “Battle of the Homescreen” to highlight technologies and services that transform the idle screen with engaging services users want.

Opera will also showcase the latest public release of its full browser for mobile phones, Opera Mobile 9.5 beta with Opera Widgets. This demo is scheduled for October 22nd at 4:00 p.m. at the Solutions Theater. Capping off Wednesday’s events, Opera will share the stage at the Mobile Monday’s sponsored reception at 6:45 p.m. to share on the varied progress of mobile technology deployment around the world. Finally, on October 23rd, an executive roundtable panel at 11:15 a.m. will bring Opera’s views to the foreground on “Enabling Mobile Internet Content and Applications” and again on a panel at 4:00 p.m. on “How Will Mobile Giants add the Internet to Their Service Model.”

“Mobile Internet World will be a busy couple of days for us, which is fitting, as the mobile industry itself is surging with the demand for compelling new services that today’s Web technologies can enable,” says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. “I’m pleased that we’re also here to provide the public with Opera Mobile 9.5 beta with Widgets along with the Opera Widgets SDK to empower users and developers with exactly what they want.”

Opera Mobile 9.5 beta with Opera Widgets is available for download from www.opera.com/products/mobile/. Developers should also check out the latest Opera Widgets SDK and the running competition called the “X-Widget Challenge.” Opera is offering $10.000 in cash prizes for the best cross-device widget submissions.
