Low-cost “all you can eat” app store powered by Opera available in Indonesia

Now Indonesian mobile users can download as many premium apps and games as they want for a small, weekly subscription fee. Opera Software has partnered with three operators in Indonesia to roll out the Opera Subscription Mobile Store service, giving consumers affordable access to thousands of premium apps. This is the first “all you can eat” app-purchasing model available in Indonesia that does not require a credit card to subscribe.

The Opera Subscription Mobile Store is an extensive app and game catalog within the third–largest app store in the world, the Opera Mobile Store. With more than 300,000 apps and games, submitted by over 40,000 developers around the world, the users can find the latest mobile apps in categories ranging from Games and Productivity to News, Health and Security. Opera continuously rotates and refreshes the apps in the store. Every week, there are loads of new apps and games available to download on multiple platforms.

The service is available on over 7,500 different phone models, from the most basic phones to advanced smartphones, including Java, Symbian, BlackBerry and Android. Popular downloads include Minecraft, Angry Birds, Star Wars II, My Talking Tom, Drag Racing 3D and Ice Age. There are more than 1,800,000 apps downloaded every day.

“We are excited to connect with mobile users in Indonesia on a new level,” says Ivollex Hodiny, Growth Director of Asia at Opera Software. “The Opera Subscription Mobile Store allows users to purchase apps at a very affordable cost and download as many premium apps as they want. It also provides an alternative channel for Indonesian app developers to reach out to their users.”

Subscribers of Telkomsel, XL and Indosat can find the app or game they like in the operators’ app stores by tapping the download button on the screen to begin a simple subscription process. Subscription fees vary by operator.
