Opera launches “Shake and Win” campaign, offering users across Brazil the chance to win prizes throughout the Carnival month

São Paulo, Brazil – February 1, 2023  – Opera – the company behind the fast, and secure flagship mobile web browser Opera for Android – is announcing a new iteration of its popular “Shake and Win” campaign, which is called “Chacoalhe & Concorra” in Brazil. Dedicated to Brazil’s greatest national celebration, the Carnival, over 50,000 Brazilian Reais in prizes headline the contest.

“Since last year Opera has implemented a dedicated strategy to grow in Brazil. Brazilians have responded enthusiastically, putting Opera browsers among the most popular platforms nation-wide. This year we are starting to launch localized campaigns, and our goal is to further strengthen the relationships with our Brazilian users. Now, as excitement builds for the Carnival, we are ready to share in the fun,” said Juliana Psaros, Head of Regional Marketing, LATAM.

Opera is passionate about bringing joy to its hundreds of millions of users worldwide. The company recently celebrated the World Cup with the “Shake and Win” campaign in Africa, which was so well-received that Opera browser rocketed to number one in the Google Play Store in both Nigeria and Kenya. Opera acknowledges just how important Carnival is to its users in Brazil, and is looking forward to getting in on the action with thousands of prizes on offer, every day for the whole month.

“Shake & Win” Campaign

Shake and Win” will go live in Brazil on February 1st and remain available until March 1st, so that users can enjoy the festive spirit the whole month long. The contest will allow everyone to celebrate Carnival by giving them the chance to take home prizes including shopping vouchers from the retailer Shopee, which winners can use to purchase just about whatever they want – glitter, confetti, and costumes for the festivities, or perhaps just some home amenities to help them get cozy during the holiday. Also, from the beginning of the month Opera for Android users can download Carnival-themed wallpapers to help them further get into the spirit of the season.

Starting on February 1st, users can access the “Shake and Win” campaign page from either Opera for Android via the floating button on the browser start page, or by visiting the official  website of the contest. From there, users are invited to shake their phones for a chance to win a puzzle piece. Users must collect six individual pieces to complete their puzzle, at which point they will learn whether they’ve won a prize. Players are entitled to at least one shake a day but the odds of winning are increased by referring friends to play, as contestants can win more shakes for every friend who joins in by downloading Opera for Android.
