Three Opera ports nearing beta, Opera for Mac, Opera for BeOS, Opera for Epoc

Opera Software today unveiled screen shots and updates on three Opera versions nearing completion. The Opera for Mac, Opera for Epoc, and Opera for BeOS ports of the popular browser Opera are all nearing release. These initiatives will streamline HTML viewing and provide a fast, small-footprint, flexible browser to the Mac, Epoc and Be communities.
“We noted an increased interest in the porting of Opera to otherplatforms and as a result have put more effort into those ports thusspeeding up the expected progress” said Jon S. von Tetzchner Opera’sCEO and co-founder. “We are happy to release a sneak peek of how eachport shows in its near-beta stage.”

“The browser has been moved up to EPOC Release 5 SDK.We are busy trying to get an official beta release out to ourvolunteer beta-testers” stated Keith Hollis the lead programmer ofOpera for Epoc. “We are also moving the code base from version 3.0 to 3.6inline with the latest Windows version which will form this first EPOCrelease.”
