Opera GX is rolling out a Streaming Profile based on feedback from content creators to tackle the biggest privacy pain points for streamers. The result is a powerful tool for distraction free streaming that puts a lock on your personal info.
Opera GX went directly to the source, working with content creators to understand the daily anxieties of streaming. Accidental tab reveals, personal bookmarks popping up, and distracting notifications are common issues that can derail a broadcast. The Streaming Profile was built to solve exactly these issues, giving streamers total control over what their audience sees.
The Streaming profile is loaded with many privacy options. It now hides suggested sites that are based on your browsing history, so your personal internet habits stay personal. It also clears away recently viewed items from online shops on the start page, preventing any accidental leaks of your gift list or shopping sprees. To further protect your privacy, the Streaming Profile now hides your browser history and recent searches from the address and search box on the start page. To complete the clean look, all widgets and suggested speed dials are also hidden from the start page, leaving nothing to chance when you go live.
Streamers can mute all tabs to avoid unwanted audio, turn off all browser sounds, and use the built-in ad blocker to prevent popups. Social media and messaging apps in the sidebar are kept hidden, so private conversations remain private. Hardware acceleration can also be disabled within this mode, a choice that may improve compatibility with certain screen capture tools and video content.
Once a Streaming profile is created, Opera GX automatically generates a dedicated desktop shortcut, allowing users to launch straight into their streaming setup without needing to manually switch profiles or different browsers just to configure a clean streaming environment – Opera GX has it all in one place.

To activate the Streaming profile, users can simply click the Opera GX logo in the top-left corner of the browser, open the feature menu, and select “Profiles.”
