Smart launches affordable surfing with Opera Mini
Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) today launched the Opera UnliSurf15 data plan, making it the most affordable mobile surfing service in the Philippines. Smart’s Opera UnliSurf15 packages are available in two options that won’t burn a hole in users’ pockets. The daily unlimited package lets users surf the internet for 24 hours for 15 pesos, and the unlimited 5-day package allows users to access the internet for only 60 pesos or as low as 12 pesos a day. This package include free data for file downloading up to 15MB per day.
To enjoy this affordable rate, Smart subscribers simply need to register by texting the keywords, OPERA 15 or OPERA 60 and send to 211 (Smart Prepaid, TNT, Regular Gold, Infinity). Then, users will receive a notification to download the Opera Mini browser from http://m.opera.com/ and enjoy accessing all their favorite websites. The service is available to all types of internet-capable handsets.
With Smart’s Opera UnliSurf15 packages, more customers will be empowered to enjoy mobile internet services. No matter where or when, or what device is used, Opera Mini gives people the freedom to stay connected. Smart’s Opera UnliSurf15 packages offer customers greater flexibility and control of their costs especially to those using basic phones. As well as enjoying the most affordable unlimited surfing package, users don’t need to wait until they find a Wi-Fi hotspot to connect their phones to the internet.
“It is Smart’s commitment to enable mobile internet for all Filipinos. Supported by Opera’s best compression technology, we are confident that we will meet our customers’ needs for reliable and affordable internet access,” says Lloyd Manaloto, Department Head of Smart Internet Marketing. “People are often reluctant to use the mobile web, due to price, but with these affordable data plans they can enjoy blazing fast web browsing without the extra charges.”
“We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy smooth mobile browsing, with the most affordable plans available,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “If you are looking for the best deal, your search ends here. Smart is the only carrier in the Philippines to offer an unlimited data plan with fast and dependable speed, giving customers the ultimate worry-free experience.”
The Opera Mini browser delivers the web faster and at a lower price than any other mobile browser, by compressing webpages before they are sent to consumers, leaving all the functionality, but reducing webpages to as little as 10%. A good example of this is how, using Opera Mini, people can access news or news site nine times more frequently than other browsers, while using the same amount of data.
