Opera Mobile rocks the MOTOKEY XT in Brazil

Oslo, Norway, and Sao Paolo, Brazil – July 14, 2011

Opera Software has done it again! Going where no other mobile browser has gone before, the Opera Mobile browser will now be available preloaded on the newest Motorola device to hit the Brazilian market.

Through a partnership with Motorola Mobility, the Opera Mobile browser will be the default browser on the super-slim MOTOKEY XT, available for sale in Brazil, through retailers and carriers, starting today. The device comes with a range of features to make the mobile Internet experience for fast-moving users a piece of cake. Having the world’s most advanced mobile browser on it –well, is the icing.

With the Opera Mobile browser, MOTOKEY XT users will be able to surf the Web on the go with speed and a desktop-like browsing experience, all while not breaking the bank. The Opera Mobile browser will be available via a single click on a built-in link on the phone.

The Opera Mobile browser is a perfect fit for the MOTOKEY XT’s target audience– heavy mobile Internet users who are always on the move and like to stay connected with their online personas in style. With the MOTOKEY XT’s slim design, full QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen capability, users will be able to input data quickly into their Opera Mobile browser, which is made to work smoothly on both keypad and touchscreen phones.

“The MOTOKEY XT is all about meeting the needs of our active and social customers,” said Fabiano Guimaraes, Sales Director, Motorola Mobility. “Taking advantage of the cutting-edge hardware and software on Motorola phones, the Opera Mobile browser can give our users access to their favorite websites in a faster, more effective manner.”

The Opera Mobile browser is a full-fledged Internet browser that does all the heavy lifting on your phone. It shares the same rendering engine as that for Opera for desktop, bringing leading HTML5 support to smartphones. The Opera Mobile browser comes with Opera Turbo, which allows users to turn on (or off) data compression. This is most useful to surf the Web faster while on a slow connection or saving data charges while roaming. It shares many features with Opera’s browsers for desktop, including tabbed browsing, password manager and Speed Dial.

“We are proud to be featured on–and will bring out the best of–one of the most-awaited devices from Motorola in the Brazilian market,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.
