Oslo, Norway – Nov. 22, 2000

Opera Software and Be Incorporated (Nasdaq: BEOS) today announced the release of Opera’s Web browser Opera 3.62 for BeOS, Be’s desktop operating system. Opera 3.62 for BeOS is feature-rich, fast and flexible, and provides Be users with an extremely fast and powerful Internet browser.

The BeOS-version of Opera is the second operating system platform after EPOC to reach the final release stage, furthering Opera’s effort to make their Internet experience available on a wide variety of platforms outside of Windows.

“This is the first time a Web browser as complete and robust as Opera 3.62 is available for BeOS,” says Jean-Louis Gassee, chairman and chief executive officer of Be. “This enables first time and professional BeOS users, as well as anyone working in the BeOS development environment, to have a better Internet experience than ever before.”

The Opera family of Web browsers have received international recognition from both users and industry press for speed, standards-compliance and flexibility.

“We see a great promise in BeOS,” says Jon S. von Tetzchner, chief executive officer of Opera Software. “Be’s platform has already proven popular among desktop users, and we think the Opera 3.62 for BeOS will increase its popularity even more.”

The Opera Web browser was developed for BeOS in cooperation with Hern Labs AB, a Swedish company offering development services and cross-platform design.
