The world’s first browser with built-in crypto wallet to make it even easier to buy Bitcoin, ETH, Celo Dollars, $NEAR and other cryptocurrencies
Oslo – Opera was the first browser to introduce Web 3 capabilities and a built-in crypto wallet across all of its mobile and desktop browsers. The Norwegian company is now partnering with Moonpay to make fiat-to-crypto top ups across multiple blockchains even easier with card payments or bank transfers.
This announcement is a further step in Opera’s strategy to eliminate the hurdles associated with the use of cryptocurrencies on the Web. In December 2018, the Norwegian company introduced the first blockchain-enabled browser, Opera for Android, with a built-in crypto wallet and DApp explorer. Opera then proceeded to add a built-in crypto wallet to its desktop browser as well as to its iOS browser. It later introduced easy crypto purchases across its products. The partnership with Moonpay, through it’s better user experience and attractive pricing, will open up access to even more blockchains and markets that aren’t yet covered.
Susie Batt, Opera’s Crypto Ecosystem Lead said: “Allowing our users to easily load cryptocurrency into their browser’s crypto wallet is crucial. We are very happy to be partnering with Moonpay, the leading provider of fiat-to-crypto solutions”
“We are very excited to partner with Opera,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, co-founder and CEO of Moonpay. Combining Opera’s crypto offering with Moonpay’s fiat on-and-off ramps will open up possibilities for its hundreds of million of users worldwide to take part in the emerging crypto economy. This aligns perfectly with our vision to introduce the next one billion people to crypto by 2030.”
